This past week, we hit Brooklyn for the #2Racks Rap Contest, hosted and presented by California native & emcee Sellassie Frisco repping hard for the San Fransisco Bay area. Sellassie is definitely a big name in his city and he built a foundation and started his career from scratch as one of the most revolutionary, dynamic and progressive independent rappers in his area. He is also well known for his “Stop Hatin’ in the Bay” campaign, which is basically his plea to underground emcee’s to stop hating on their peers and instead show support for one another by listening and uplifting each other through their music. Sellassie is constantly bridging gaps for independent artists and giving them a voice by providing interactive showcases where artists can display their talent through live performances, and you know we’re all about that! He hosts an annual rap contest (2 Racks) where the winner of the rap contest receives a grand prize of 2 thousand dollars after being critiqued by guest judges with heavy stain in the industry. Last Wednesday’s contest was held at SRB’s in Brooklyn featured guest judges like Fiona Bloom & PR Dean. 32 Contestants. 1 winner. 2 stacks!
