The Music Cafe made their last tour stop at William Paterson University on Friday (11/22) with host, KevMusicMan to close out what has been a very successful tour run throughout various different college campuses in New Jersey. Starting at Fairleigh Dickinson University, the Music Cafe tore down the stage at the College of New Jersey & Kean University as well as Seton Hall and Stockton which lead up to their final performance at William Paterson where the band closed the tour with a bang! The band members were certainly dressed to impress as they put on their final performance in front of a full audience of people in the Ballroom of Willy P’s Student Center.
However, unlike the majority of the shows they put on for the statewide tour, the Music Cafe had way more in store for their last performance. This time they added a few more performers to the star studded line-up including a very influential poet by the name of Prophet, a sensational R&B artist named Ace, as well as another talented female vocalist, Phylicia who sang the grammy award winning single by John Legend, “Ordinary People”. In addition, there were also a couple of unexpected performances for the “Open Mic” intermission in the middle of the show, one of which included a very pleasant cover of Frank Ocean’s recent single “Pilot Jones”. Most people don’t take into consideration how challenging it can be to perform in a packed room of your peers, so we truly respect the creative individuals who had the courage to perform as well.
The Music Cafe plans to return with bigger and better things come 2014, and we look forward to catching up with them once they return. The success of the tour would not be possible without the Uplift Group and Sinatra Entertainment who helped to provide a great show and a platform for independent and upcoming artists. It was an honor to capture such a brilliant and successful tour and we can’t wait for the Music Cafe to return with more great music, but for now, we’ll just have to reminisce on their musical magic with this exclusive recap captured by Hidden Prod.
